Robert
Amarosa
Sep 3, 1935 — Jun 10, 2026
Robert (Bob) Amarosa passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, surrounded by family. Born September 3, 1935, to parents Frank and Mary Teresa Amarosa in Brattleboro, VT, as one of six siblings, he spent his formative years on their family farm in Winchester, NH. During high school, Bob worked at his father’s plumbing and hardware business and played basketball. As a young adult, Bob and his best friend, Pete, chose to enlist in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his service, he attended the New Hampshire Industrial Technical Institute where he started his lifelong career in machining, tooling, and sales.
Bob met his wife, Marcelle (Laliberte), in Manchester, NH, and they were married in 1965. They had two children, Melanie and Peter, raising them in Amherst, Dover, and then Durham, NH. While living in Durham, Bob was the commander of the Portsmouth Power Squadron.
Bob founded his company, P.A.C. Tool, in 1983 with the support of his wife and children, which he ran successfully until his retirement. During this time, Bob co-developed a patented tool, the Air Head Hone, with his son, Peter. Bob deeply valued his customers, their trust, and the working relationships that often turned into friendships.
After retiring, Bob and Marcelle moved to a waterfront property in Hampton, NH, where they spent many happy years lobstering, fishing, watching sunsets, and hosting friends and family. They spent winters in the Florida Keys, mostly on Cudjoe Key. Throughout their retirement, they traveled extensively within the United States and Canada in their RV, taking adventures to places such as the Grand Canyon, Prince Edward Island, the Dakotas, and all over the Eastern seaboard.
Bob was well known for his sense of humor, which he inherited from his mother; he always had a quip ready and would put friends and strangers alike at ease with his jokes. He enjoyed making $1 fishing bets with friends and making losers wear their caps backwards on the ride home.
He loved to entertain and serve hors d'oeuvres, earning himself the nickname “Cocktail Bob.” Bob and his wife started the “5 o’clocker” event with friends in Florida where they would get together for food, cocktails, and bragging about the day’s catch.
Bob valued time spent with family in nature, teaching his children, grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews to hunt, fish, clam, and lobster. He shared many happy days on the water fishing with his wife, family, and close friends both in New Hampshire and Florida.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Mary Teresa and Frank; brother Frank Amarosa, Jr; brother James Amarosa; son Bobby, Jr; and granddaughter Rachel. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Marcelle; daughter Melanie and her husband George; son Peter and his wife Lisa; granddaughter Gabrielle and her husband Dylan; grandson Chase; granddaughter Maeve; sister Libby Laberge; brother Richard Amarosa; sister Teresa Martin; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
