Eliot- Robert Edward Drummond Merrill, 73 of Hamscom Road in Eliot died on December 22, 2015 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Born in South Berwick, ME, ( at the old South Berwick hospital) on October 22, 1942 he was a son of the late Willis and Ruth ( Robinson ) Merrill. He was raised in South Berwick and attended local schools graduating from South Berwick High.

Following school he served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1962-1966. He then began a successful career at New England Telephone.

He met and on September 28, 2003 married his current wife Hetty ( Nayoan ) Merrill. He attended the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Newington.

Bob is survived by his wife Hetty of Elliot. From his first marriage, he is survived by sons Edmund C. D Merrill and Douglass K. D. Merrill, daughter Sonya A. Hamori, grandchildren; (Adam, Danielle, Sebastian, Phoebe and Asher , brothers ; John and Patrick Merrill, sisters; Mary Cullen and Charlene Priddy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Edmund Merrill and nephew Bret Merrill.

Friends may visit with Bob's family on Tuesday December 29, 2015 from 10-11 am in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 22 Fox Run Road, Newington NH 03801, where a funeral will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will take place on Wednesday December 30, 2015 at 2 pm in the Drummond Cemetery on River Road in Winslow Maine with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to benefit his spouse. Care for the Merrill family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
