Robert(Bob) Nelson passed away April 26 th due to complications from Parkinson's and cancer.
Bob was born July 14, 1935, son of Dorothy(Emery) and Edwin Nelson. He is survived by his daughter Cheryl of Milford, NH, his grandson Adam Rice and wife Jillian(Putterman) of Rocky Hill, CT, a brother Don and wife Jean from Tennessee, and his nieces and nephews. Dad also is survived by his wonderful furry companion, Tyler, who is now being cared for by a special family related to Carol Lunn.
Bob is predeceased by his wife Anita whom he was married to for 58 years. Their favorite memories were of times with their grandson as well as their trips abroad.
Bob graduated from Cushing Academy in 1953. He was also a graduate of Brown University with a degree in banking. He was senior lending officer with Middlesex Savings Bank for many years. Bob was also very proud to become 32 nd degree Mason. He was recently certified as a Mason for 62 years. His current affiliation was with the Rose of Sharon Lodge A.F. & A.M of Charlton, MA. His original affiliation was with Norumbega Fraternity Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Newtonville, MA.
His favorite hobby was wood working. He shared that passion with his grandson of which he gifted his tools and his nephew Kent which he gifted all his equipment.
Bob was a special man, wonderful father and papa. He was easy to talk to which made him a good friend to many people.
I, Cheryl, would like to thank all the nurses, drivers, servers, and staff at The Overlook for their care and kindness they provided. During this crazy pandemic, it was especially wonderful they offered a compassionate care visit to his grandson, Adam.
