Roberta Leavitt, 100, celebrated her heavenly birth on August 27, 2024, at Sentry Hill in York, Maine. Born September 12, 1923, in Sacramento, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Raymond Ward and Stella Galloway Ward. She was a graduate of Sacramento High School in Sacramento, KY. She was married in Kentucky to her husband of 68 years, Robert Leslie Leavitt (1921-2014), and they returned to Maine after his discharge from the Army. Roberta lived most of her life in Eliot, Maine. She was a creative seamstress and made custom slipcovers and draperies for Margeson's Furniture Store in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

She is survived by her daughters: Jeanette Kay LaSorsa and husband Frank LaSorsa of Stratham, NH, and Cheryl Lynn Ferguson and husband Douglas Ferguson of Madison, Ohio; grandsons Joseph McNiff and wife Katy, Anthony LaSorsa and wife Erin, Alan Matthews and wife Jaime, and Steven Matthews and wife Jackie; great-granddaughters Carly Schraven, Melissa Rice, Christina Matthews, Katarina Matthews, and Aurora Matthews; and great-grandsons, James Matthews, Daniel Matthews, and Rowan Matthews.

Roberta was preceded in death by her two brothers and two sisters: Raymond Ward, Jr., William Edward Ward, Delores Shanks, and Josephine Lindsey.

Roberta's family will be hosting a Visitation on Thursday, September 5th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine 03904.
