South Berwick- Ronald Richard Dumont, a longtime resident of South Berwick, passed away May 27th at the age of 83 surrounded by family.
Ron was born on August 10, 1938 to Eva and Armand Dumont. He graduated from Somersworth High School in 1956. He served in the New Hampshire National Guard. He worked for over thirty years at Public Service of New Hampshire.
Ron is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Martha Dumont, his daughters Kathryn Dumont, and Patricia Dumont and her husband Brad Holt. His three grandchildren TJ Waters and his wife Kerry Waters and their children Cameron and Oliver, Jared Waters, and Jessica Silberman and her husband Ian Silberman and their children Julian and Kyler as well as his brother Roland Dumont and his sister Elaine Tuttle. He is predeceased by his brothers Armand "Pete" Dumont and Roger "Chip" Dumont.
Ron enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and ice fishing with his brother and grandsons. He liked spending his days outside tending to his lawn, working in his vegetable garden, and tinkering around his house.
Ron and Martha enjoyed traveling and making memories with friends and family. Some of their favorite trips being to Key West, Alaska, and Ireland. They also enjoyed spending time at the South Berwick Community Center.
He will be remembered by family and friends for being a happy guy with an infectious smile. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the South Berwick Senior Center, 71 Norton Street, South Berwick, ME, and the South Berwick Public Library 27 Young Street South Berwick Maine 03908. Care for the Dumont family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
