Ronald L Erwin, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on April 4, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He will be remembered for the way he lived and the impression it had on those who knew him.
Ronnie was a humble man who proudly served his country as a member of the USAF for 20+ years during the Vietnam era. He received numerous awards and commendations for Meritorious service, 1975-1983, 1983-1986, and 1986-1987. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal 4/4/1975-5/10/1975 in the evacuation of American and Vietnamese refugees from Vietnam under the most arduous conditions.
Ronnie especially loved riding his Harley with his son, attending agility classes with his dog, and giving freely of his time and talents to family and friends alike. His favorite expression was "smile".
He is survived by his wife Mary of 55 years, his son, Vincent of Dover, and his loving companion Paisley. Sister Claire and her spouse, Peter Sabo of Augusta, GA. Brothers in laws - Emmanuel Hios and his wife Janet of Beverly, MA, Ronald Hios and his wife Edith of Middleton, NH, Barbara Carroll wife of his brother Sylvio Landry, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, especially Mildred Bergeron of Salem, MA
He is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Yvonne Erwin, brother Sylvia Landry of FL and sister Mary Erwin.
A time of visitation will take place Wednesday, April 9th, from 4 PM to- 6 PM at Bernier -Pelkey Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth, NH 03878. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated April 10th, at 10:30a at St Ignatius of Loyola Parish St Martin Church, 120 Maple Street, Somersworth, NH 03878.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ronnie's name to St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish St. Martin Church Parish Life Center.
