Obituary

Eliot- Ronald "Ronnie" Crosby Hinds, 85 , of Goodwin Road in Eliot died on November 13, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.

Born in Portland Maine on November 28, 1935 he wa s a son of the late Clayton G. a nd Edna ( Wormel ) Hinds. He was

raised in Eliot and attended local schools.

Ronnie married his loving wife of sixty- two years Charlotte (Tuttle) Hinds and together they built their home and raised their family in Eliot.

Earl y on Ronnie worked at Crawford Lobster picking lobster meat, Kings Tut' s Restaurant as a cook , and later set poles for Seward Construction , and drove truck for Interstate Equipment. F or many years Ronnie was a beloved custodian at Eliot Elementary School. When his grandson Justin was a baby he began working second shift at the school so he could be with Justin during the day, they became and remained best of friends.

He was a loving husband, doting father and amazing Grampy . His friendships were important to him, enjoying time spent early in the morning playing cribbage with the boys, MGB cruises with friends , traveling to Bermuda, Hawaii, San Francisco, Sedona and visiting the Grand Canyon. He also dedicated a number of years volunteering with the Eliot Fire Department, and spending many Satur day evenings at the Moose Club i n Portsmouth.

He enjoyed fixing about any thing for anyone and loved watching birds that came to his many feeders and making bird houses so he could watch the many broods born. Starting in the early 1970's summers meant fishing, boating and enjoying family and friends at camp on Mousam Lake.

Ronnie cared for the property at Eliot United Methodist Church mowing the expansive lawns, a job he inherited from his father in-law, King Tut and then passed on to his grandson, Justin.

He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Charlotte, daughter Jody Hinds, grandson Justin Stebbins, his partner Stephanie Tehee n and daughter Kylie, 5 grandpups , sister Betty Simpson, brother - in-law Ken Tuttle, s ister- in-law Sandra Brewster, b rother -in- law Dennis Tuttle and wife Valerie, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother Clayton Hinds, sisters Maria n Blaney and Helen Phinney Johnson, daughters Tammy, Pamela, and Roni Sue.

Friends are invited to visit with his family on S un day , Nov ember 21, 2021 from 1pm-2 pm at the Eliot United Methodist Church where a memorial service will be celebrated at 2:00pm .

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his me mory to his church or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
