Somersworth – Rose M. Hopkins, 89, of Somersworth, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

She was born on August 24, 1927, a daughter of Andre and Aurore (Vallee) Gagnon.

Rose was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Somersworth.

Prior to her retirement, Rose worked at Clarostat and was co-owner of E.E. Hopkins Plumbing in Somersworth.  She loved listening to music, watching movies, reading some of her favorite books and taking trips in the car.

She was predeceased by her son, Glenn Hopkins in 2003 and her husband, Edward Hopkins, Sr in 2008. Rose was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Gagnon and her sister, Sr. Helene Gagnon.

Survivors include her children, Edward Hopkins, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Somersworth, Michelle Alonzi and her husband, Brian of Rochester, and Leigh (Laurie Anne) Conway of Somersworth; four grandchildren, Michael Hopkins of Concord, Maegan Adams and her husband, Brandon of Seabrook, Derek Alonzi of Rochester and Jennifer George and her husband, Zack of Freemont; siblings, Jeannette Dumont and her husband, Norbert of Somersworth, Andrea Houde and her husband, Fred of South Berwick, ME, and Andre Gagnon and his wife, Jeannine of Nashua; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services: A time of visitation will be held from 9:30AM -11:00AM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Holy Trinity Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 404 High Street, Somersworth with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 11:00AM. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Somersworth.
