Rosemary
Thompson
Jul 17, 1946 — Nov 22, 2018
Eliot - Rosemary Garrity Thompson, age 72, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on Thursday November 22, 2018.
Rosie was born on July 17, 1946 in New York City. As a child she loved ballet dancing. Rosie and her family moved to Long Island when she was ten years old. There she happily grew up with her large, loving and hilarious family. Rosie made wonderful friends and memories on Long Island including the Drum and Bugle Corp.
Rosie eventually moved to Boston with friends where she met her husband Peter Thompson. They married, putting roots down in Kittery, Me. There together they lovingly raised their two daughters Kate and Emi.
Rosie loved her lifestyle as a domestic engineer. She enjoyed volunteering at the Kittery public schools as well as attending all her girls sporting events.
Rosie loved becoming a Grandmother. She found no greater joy then rocking the babies, especially alongside one of her best friends Lisa Glidden. Recently she lived one of her dreams by taking Kate and Emi's families with her to Disney.
Rosie is predeceased by her parents Claire and John as well as her husband Peter. She is survived by her siblings John Garrity and wife Kim, Eileen Wimsat and husband Greg, Kathleen Garrity and partner Holly Horn, Deetzie Downing and husband Glenn, Tommy Garrity and wife Debbie, daughters Kate McDaniel and husband Erik, Emi and husband Chris, and her grandchildren Elle, Ryen, Maeve, Nova, Peter & Keira, as well as her many loving nieces and nephews.
Per Rosie's request there will be no services. The family would like to thank Dr. Barbara Civiello and all of the amazing staff at the Seacoast Cancer Center for their incredible care and compassionate support.
