York - Rudolph Vernon LaPointe, 90, of York, Maine passed away with his loving wife by his side on March 13, at Osceola Regional Hospital in Kissimmee, Florida.

Rudolph was born December 22, 1927 in Derby, Maine.  He was the son of the late George LaPointe and Rose Lee Moulton.He attended schools in Derby and Milo, Maine. Rudolph served in the U.S. Navy for 3 ½ years and was honorably discharged in 1948. He worked for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad in Derby and Oakfield. He then worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 31 ½ years, retiring in 1983 as a General Foreman Electrician.

Rudolph was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member for many years of the Downeast Western Square Dance Club. He liked dancing, golfing and traveling. He enjoyed spending his retirement winters with his wife in Kissimmee.

He was the husband of Vivian (Fernald) LaPointe, having been happily married for 59 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Dave Malone of Dover, NH; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Robin LaPointe of North Berwick, ME; step-daughter and husband, Linda and Daryl Theriault of Eliot, ME; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dale Seaton of Eliot, ME; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Rudolph was predeceased by a brother, Roland LaPointe, a sister Rita Moore; as well as other family members and dear friends.

Services: A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, from 11a-1p at the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Rd, Kittery, Maine. A funeral service will be celebrated at 1p at the funeral home. A time of sharing and refreshment will be held immediately following the service.
