Ruth
Gagnon
Aug 23, 1927 — Jul 19, 2025
Ruth would like to let all her friends know that her work is finished. She received a call on July 19, 2025 for a journey from which she will not return. Her new life takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing and reuniting with family and friends. We want to let her know that she did a wonderful job and wish her a safe journey. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Ruth had an exuberant spirit by nature. Loved spending many summers at her cottage at Milton Three Ponds, enjoyed visits with friends and relatives and kept in touch with her traveling children. You should have seen her face light up the first time she used facetime. She was always on the hunt for a good bargain and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casinos. Loved to cook for family gatherings and took great pride in remodeling her home of 65 years in Somersworth. Her energy and work ethic was incomparable and an inspiration that we all treasured. .
We will remember her dedication to her six children even while caring for her neighbor's children. After the children were grown she was employed at several local shoe factories and finally at Wentworth Douglass Hospital from which she retired.
Ruth was born August 23, 1927 in Dover, NH. Educated in the Dover schools and Berwick Academy. She is survived by her children, Madeleine MacDougall (Bruce) Bridgewater, NH , Jacqueline Crombie Plymouth, MA, Ronald Gagnon (Patty) Dade City, Florida, Roger–Pit--Gagnon Somersworth, NH, Sharon Flanagan (David) Ogunquit ME , Sister Joyce Blakely of Kingstree SC, and Brother William Currier (Carole) of Berwick, ME 10 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren 2 great great grandchildren.

Parents Cora Swasey Currier and William Currier; Sister Barbara Barton and husband Buzz; Son Gerard Gagnon and wife Cheryl, Granddaughter Jane Crombie; and Son-in Law George Crombie.
