Kittery- Ruth C. Maby, 93 of Eliot Road died on November 2, 2017 at her
home. Born in Franklin, MA she was a daughter of the late Kenneth H. And
Marion Catherine (Oldhan) Callahan.
Ruth moved with her family in the third grade to Portsmouth where they lived
for a short time before settling in Kittery Point, where she would finish
school graduating with the class of 1941 from RW Traip Academy.
While in high school she met Edward Maby and in 1946 they would begin their
over seventy year marriage . They built their home on Eliot Road in 1947 and
began a family. Early in life she'd enjoyed time as a Brownie leader and Girl Scout leader for both the junior and senior scouts.
Ruth worked as a book keeper privately and at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard
as well as working at a local bank as a transit operator.
She was a parishioner at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Kittery.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband Edward Maby of Kittery, daughter Fran
Heath of Concord, NH and granddaughter Courtney Heath of Concord,NH, grandson Ryan Heath of Nashua,NH and great grandson Harper Heath, a sister Dorothy J. Putnam of Florida. She was predeceased by a sister Miriam Callahan.
