Eliot - Samuel W. Gregg , III , of Eliot, ME , passed away on October 31, 2016, after an extended period of failing health. Born April 24, 1941, he was the son of Samuel W. Gregg, J r., and Mary Power Gregg.

Sam was the beloved husband and best friend of Jocelyne B. Gregg for 36 wonderful years. He was blessed with 4 children, 2 stepchildren, and 4 grandchildren . He is survived by his wife Jocelyne B. Gregg of Eliot, ME; son John Gregg of Scott Township, PA; daughter Susan Gregg Grundon of Enola, PA; daughter Patricia Young of Asheville, NC ; son Brian Gregg o f Kittery Point , ME ; stepdaughter Christina Rice of Baltimore, MD; stepdaughter Juliann Watson of Portsmouth, NH; sister Isabelle Gregg Champlin of Bradford, PA; and stepsisters Jackie Bovaird Kenyon of Bradford, PA, and Judy Bovaird Enos of Middletown, PA. Sam was very loved by his extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Sam spent a lot of his youth between Bradford, PA , and Kittery Point, ME , where the allure of the ocean captured him at a very young age. He attended University of Pennsylvania/Wharton School, but elected to pursue his passion for c ommercial fishing for many years. As the fishing industry evolved, he defined a business opportunity in the early stages of the commercial s atellite television industry.

Our family and friends all have wonderful memories of our time with Sam. He was always engaging, interesting, and his smile would light up a room.  He will be greatly missed by all of us.

A celebration of Sam's life will be held at a later date.
