Somersworth- Sandra Ann Spellman, 74, of Somersworth NH, died suddenly of cardiac arrest Friday October 21, 2016. Born in Rochester NH on February 7, 1942, to Maurice and Georgianna (Bouchard)Spellman.

Sandra was salutatorian of the class of 1960 at Somersworth High School and also co-editor of the Hilltop Echo under Martha Lefebvre. She attended Plymouth Teachers College then started her career employed as a civil servant for 27 years in varies agencies and financial positions with Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, US Postal Service, The Office of General Accounting (GOA), retiring with the Social Security Administration in Manchester NH.  Her career also brought her to Rome NY for 3 years.

While raising her children she was very active in the high school educations by being a St. Thomas Aquinas school board member for three years, a St. Thomas booster and was instrumental in helping her former husband, Daniel Ladisheff, organize and form the St. Thomas Aquinas ice hockey program.

Upon retiring, her remaining years were spent on full time doting of her grandchildren and great grandchildren; volunteering with many organizations including the Somersworth Historical Society and Museum, her churches many ministries such as bingo, church suppers, counting of the money, and church fairs and functions. She loved her city of Somersworth, NH and volunteered for many years with the city as moderator of the checklist. She was a member of the Somersworth Book club and NARFE. Also, she loved visiting with the many sick, infirmed and lonely people she knew throughout the area to brighten their spirits.

Sandra was loved by many and will hold a place in all our hearts and memories forever. R.I.P Mom, Memere – We Love You!

Sandra was pre-deceased by her parents and brother Paul Spellman.

Sandra is survived by her son, Christopher Ladisheff and wife Robin of Rochester, NH. Daughter, Kimberly Perry (Ladisheff) of Berwick, ME. Four granddaughters; Amanda, Taylor, Nicole and Alexis Perry. Six great grandchildren; Kaden and Hunter Mros, Emma Henner, Brooklynn and Owen Rodney and Lillian Brierley, and too many family and friends to count.

Services: A time of visitation will take place Thursday October 27, 2016 from 4-6 pm at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day, Friday, October 28,2016 at 11am at Holy Trinity Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 404 High Street, Somersworth, NH, with a luncheon to immediately follow at St. Martins Church, 120 Maple Street, Somersworth, NH. Burial arrangements will be announced at a later date. Care for Spellman family has entrusted Bernier-Pelkey Funeral Home.
