Kittery, ME - On the rainy evening of Thursday, June 20, 2019, the beloved soul of Sandra Cerini Young, age 80, of Kittery, ME was welcomed into the Holy Kingdom by Our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was born January 3, 1939.  She transitioned peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones after a brief and sudden struggle with pancreatic cancer.

Sandra was a lifelong resident of Kittery who graduated from Traip Academy in 1957. After retiring from Palmer and Chenard, she was employed at the Dress Barn in Kittery.  She then continued volunteering at St. Mark's Church in Kittery, ME, where she found great joy in co-coordinating St. Mark's Annual Art and Craft Fair. Sandra was a gifted and creative person. She enjoyed crafting (jewelry making, painting, knitting, etc.), gardening, singing and dancing and was an avid reader . Her greatest joys were spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Skip-Bo, shopping, and going out to lunch. Sandra's unwavering faith, commitment to family and friends was an inspiration to many. Her warmth and caring nature for all inspired everyone who knew her to be a better, stronger, and kinder person. She went above and beyond to help her family, friends and strangers. The beloved Sandra Young will be greatly missed. She was one of the kindest, sweetest and most loving sister, mother, grammie, GG and friend.

S andra was survived by her brother Carl Young Jr., of Dunedin, FL, her daughter, Jodi and husband Zeke Morrel , of Kittery , son Greg Hoffses and Fiancé Patricia Amergins of South Berwick, grandchildren Mellanie Gordon of Kittery, Nathan Shirley and wife Paige of Kittery, Paige Leigh Hoffses of Kittery, Greg Hoffses Jr. of South Berwick, Angela Lawrence and husband Evan of Dover, NH, great-grandchildren Jon Wyatt Gordon, Amelia Grace Gordon, Layla Love Shirley, Landon Nalen, Mason Des Bouverie, Micha Des Bouverie, and Avin Hoffses. She was preceded by her mother and father Carl and Laberta Young of Kittery, her son Corey Jon Hoffses of Kittery, and sister Donna Fleet of Kittery.

The service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. Mark's Church in Kittery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you remember her by nurturing a new plant in your personal garden.
