Obituary

York Maine- Sara ( Emery ) Lovo, 83 of Old Seabury Road in York died suddenly on June 5, 2015 at her home. Born on June 28, 1931 she was a true native of York Beach, a daughter of the late Norman B. and Etta May (Sewall) Emery. She grew up enjoying York Beach, attended local schools and later earned college degrees in Biology/Zoology from Tufts University and Mt. Holyoke College. She worked for a time as a medical researcher before marrying her husband Robert Lovo and together they lived in many homes throughout the US and abroad including Thailand, Florida, Texas, and Illinois among others. They returned home to York many years ago. Bob and Sara enjoyed 53 happy married years together. Sara enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting as well as crossword puzzles and cooking. She was an active member of the Trinity Anglican Church in Rochester where she volunteered many hours in the church thrift shop. She is survived by her loving family; husband Robert Lovo of York, daughters Susan Schaub, Marianne Aydil, son Matthew Lovo, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. Sara was predeceased by her brother Thomas Sewall Emery. Friends are invited to visit with Sara's family on Monday from 6-8pm in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904. A memorial service will be celebrated at her church the Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday at 3pm at 180 Rochester Hill Road in Rochester, NH. In lieu of flowers, as a 30 year breast cancer survivor, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society. Care for the Lovo family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
