Scott Kevin
Plaisted
Aug 15, 1962 — Sep 7, 2020
York - Scott Kevin Plaisted, 58, of Orchard Farms Road, passed away suddenly at home on September 7, 2020. Scott was born in Rochester on August 15, 1962, to Pearl (Bernier) and the late Allan Plaisted.
Scott graduated from Noble High School in 1980 and worked for several years at Genest Concrete and then at Prime Tanning in Berwick. He then worked as an inspector in non-destructive testing for thirty six years at Pratt and Whitney in North Berwick, retiring on May 28th of this year.
As a teenager, Scott was a sophomore starter for his high school basketball team and helped lead his team to States his senior year. He was also a sophomore starter for his high school baseball team. He enjoyed playing softball with his brother on many Pratt and Whitney sponsored teams.
Scott was a lover of life. Whether he was spending time with family, working, biking or playing sports, he was fully committed, and everyone around him could count on that. Scott never missed a Patriots' game, whether attending live or watching on television. Scott had a deep Christian faith that never wavered. He was an avid communicant of St. Christopher's Church and had lectored Masses for the past 23 years. More recently, Scott found his passion for road biking and playing paddle tennis. He was well-known in his neighborhood as someone that everyone could count on for a kind word, a huge grin, a wave and a helping hand. In the summertime, Scott could often be found enjoying the family cottage on Long Sands Beach--sitting on the porch or the beach, bodysurfing, paddle boarding and surfing. He was happiest at the beach, surrounded by family.
Scott is survived by his wife of twenty eight years, Carol, and his daughter Lindsey, both of York. He is also survived by his mother Pearl Plaisted of Berwick, his sister Sheila Lilly and her husband Bruce of Bethel, his brother Craig Plaisted and his wife Cynthia of Berwick and his sister Dawn Steere and her husband Cory of Wells. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Joshua Plaisted and his father Allan Plaisted.
