Sharon M. Kibat passed away at Wentworth Douglass Hospital on May 15, 2023, after a short period of declining health. Just one week shy of her 79th birthday.

Sharon was born on May 23,1944, in Portsmouth, NH. to the late Lester and Dorothy (Evers) Thomas. Sharon grew up in Eliot, ME. where she attended the Eliot school system. She met her loving husband Casey in her late teens while he was stationed at Pease Air Force Base. Sharon and Casey married in July 1961 and went on to have their children David and Colleen.

Sharon had so much love for her small community in Eliot, ME. She was involved in all she could, whether it was being a member of the town council, or the librarian of the William Fogg Library and later on becoming a trustee. She loved it all.

Sharon's bright energy was simply unmatched. She was on the go from sun up to sun down, from working as Bookkeeper of the family business, Northeast Hydraulics, to Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens. She was also a member of Piscataqua Chapter No. 90 Order of the Eastern Star for over four decades.

Sharon was the matriarch of the family. She spent every day making sure all she loved was taken care of. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and would spend any chance she could with them, even if it meant dragging them around shopping all day and then asking her over and over "Are we done yet?!"

Sharon was truly the strongest woman in all situations with some of her last few words being.

"Don't cry. There is nothing that we can do."

She is predeceased by her husband Casey of 59 years.

Survived by her two children, David Kibat of South Berwick, ME. and Colleen Baker of Eliot, ME; two brothers, Ken & Catherine Thomas of Eliot, ME. And Frank & late Lorraine Thomas of Eliot, ME; grandchildren, Garron & Jessica of Middletown, CT, Dustin of Eliot, ME, Jennifer & Philip of Eliot, ME, and Dylan of South Berwick, ME; great grandchildren, Leonardo, Lorenzo, Dawson, Hazel & Charlotte; many nieces & nephews and bonus children, Mike & Sue Rogers of Eliot, ME.

A time of visiting will take place on Monday, May 22 ^nd , from 5-7p, at the JS Pelkey & Son Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine, 03904.
