Sherry Germain DeButts, age 61, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at her family's camp on Silver Lake in Shapleigh, Maine. She was born in Portsmouth, NH, to Nelson Desjardins and Nancy D. Page. She had three sisters: Sandy Berounsky of North Berwick, Denise, who died at birth, and Lisa Desjardins of Portsmouth, NH, who is also deceased. She is survived by her brother, Frederick Seaward Page of Berwick, Maine. Sherry had two sons, Nelson DeButts and Joseph DeButts. Joseph "Joey" died on May 26, 2007, at 24. Although she was married several times, she is now with her only true love, "as she would say," Benjamin DeButts.

Sherry was a big family person who loved her family and loved to give. She was an opinionated and outspoken woman who had no problem telling people what she thought or had on her mind. She was a powerful, tough woman constantly fighting or battling illness. She worked in retail for many years until she started her own cleaning company, which she had to stop because of her health problems.

Sherry also loved dogs and left behind her dog, "Chewy," a rescued Chihuahua; she always had a pet dog; she even adopted/took her mother's dog, Toto. She was loved and spoken of highly by everyone who met her, mainly because of her kind heart and generosity. She would help anyone who asked for it and many who didn't. She was also not afraid to stick up for anyone being bullied or hurt; she always had an open door for anyone who needed a place to stay or a warm meal for anyone who was hungry or needed it. Sherry was a caring Mother and woman who will be missed by everyone who met her.
