Kittery Maine – Shirley Davies, 68, passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 4, 2024, at Durgin Pines Nursing Home, with her beloved husband by her side.

She was born in Bay Shore, Long Island, NY, on August 4th, 1956, to Harold Cinqmars and Catherine (Lucas) Cinqmars.  She graduated from West Babylon High School.  Growing up with six siblings in a small, modest home with a pitcher's mound in the front yard, she quickly learned to survive with limited means.   She was the definition of resilience, perseverance, and Independence, all traits that were inadvertently passed on to her sons by her pure example.

Shirley moved to Kittery, Maine, during the summer of 1989 and has lived there ever since. Her people skills helped her tremendously in her customer service and retail career. If she recognized you, she would fill your ears with proud, small talk about the accomplishments within her family circle. Her friendly smile and warm chit-chat often made her a customer favorite.

When she wasn't a dedicated employee, she would spend many sunny days tending to her vegetable garden, a hobby she shared with her husband.  She greatly enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren during the Holidays.  It was safe to say that her heart was grander than her wallet.  She would occasionally treat herself to a trip to a local casino, often coming home more victorious than defeated.  She loved her vacations in Arizona, where she visited and reminisced with relatives.  Frequently, she would talk about retiring there so that she didn't have to shovel snow anymore, which she did until her body wouldn't allow her to any longer.  Her contagious smile, recognizable laugh, and love will be missed by all.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 14 years, Kevin Davies of Kittery, Maine; two sons, Harold Brill of Punta Gorda, FL., Shaun Ackerly and Wife, Andrea, of Wolfeboro, NH; five grandchildren; two sisters, two brothers, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Shirley is predeceased by her brothers, Raymond Cinqmars and Richard Cinqmars, and her granddaughter, Ciara Brill.
