Obituary

Sophie P. Willett-88 died on December 5, 2012 of natural causes at Frisbee Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH. She was born in Ashland, Maine on January 20, 1924. She was the daughter of Helen and Frank Moro Sr. She is predeceased by her husband Val Willett of Somersworth, NH and her brother June Moro of Meriden, CT. Members of her family include her daughter Linda and husband Randy Vachon of Somersworth, NH, her grandchildren Bill Vachon and wife Ruthie of Berwick, ME, Jennifer Fenderson and husband Jamie of North Berwick, ME, Kevin Vachon and wife Lisa of Somersworth, NH, and seven great grandchildren, Zachary, Katie, Brandon, and Meagan Vachon, Emily and Jeremy Fenderson, and Brendin Flanagan. She is also survived by her brother Clarence Moro and wife Edna of Ashland, ME, Lewis Moro of Meriden, CT, Pat Leach and husband Phil of Hallowell, ME, Janet Theriault of Robersonville, NC. She also has several nieces and nephews. Sophie took great pride in her cooking, cleaning, and caring for others. She worked for many years as a housekeeper at Catholic churches throughout Maine, including St. Marks in Sheridan, St. Mary s in Eagle Lake, St. Joseph s in Farmington, and Our Lady of Peace in Berwick. Sophie had much fun and looked forward to her weekly trips to Homemakers of Strafford County in Rochester, NH. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking. Sophie most enjoyed spending time with her family on Square Pond in Shapleigh, ME at the family camp where she had many family functions and pontoon boat rides on the lake. She loved to sit in her rocking chair on the porch watching boats and loons pass by and her great grandchildren playing in the water. In lieu of flowers, donations came be made to Homemakers of Strafford County 215 Rochester Hill Road Rochester, NH 03867 and Our Lady of the Angels Building Fund PO Box 208 South Berwick, ME 03908. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. 12 noon at Parish of the Ascension in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 160 Agamenticus Road South Berwick, Maine followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth, N.H. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bernier Funeral Home, Somersworth
