South Berwick – Stephanie A. "Penny" Tobey, 68, of South Berwick, Maine, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 20, 1949 in Bath, Maine, a daughter of the late Harry and Priscilla (Wood) Cornish. She was a graduate of Traip Academy.

Penny was formerly employed as a waitress at the former Line House in Kittery and as a CNA at the former Harbor Home in York and former Homestead Nursing Home in Kittery.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bible study, spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Penny was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence "Larry" Tobey in 2016.

Survivors include her children, Lawrence and his wife, Renee; daughters, Dana Howland and her husband, Christopher, and Shannon O'Brien.; grandchildren, Katherine, Devon, Christopher, Cameron, Lillian, and Corbin; great grandchildren, Taylor and David; a brother, William Cornish and a sister, Kelli Costello; several nieces and nephews.

Services: A time of visitation will be held from 5-7pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7pm on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the J. S.
