Eliot- Stevan E. Palmer, 63 of Eliot died on Sunday March 1, 2015 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover. Born in Portsmouth, NH on October 4, 1951 he was a son of Edward Jr. and Fannie (Roach) Palmer. He attended Eliot schools, graduating from Marshwood High School. He furthered his education, earning a teaching degree from the University of Maine with a focus on history. His life was filled with the joy of helping others and making them happy, his missionary work and life of caring for the mentally and physically challenged. His deep love of reading and sharing Gods word offered him a full life. As a youngster he attended the Central Baptist Church in Portsmouth and as an adult he enjoyed his family at the Eliot Baptist Church. Stevan is survived by his loving mother Fannie Palmer of Eliot, a sister Elaine and her husband John Frissell, brother Bradley Palmer his wife Mary and their children, a brother in law Richard Peterson, uncles Thomas, Smith and Daniel Palmer, several neices and nephews and his friends. He was predeceased by his father Edward Palmer Jr. and his sister Katherine L. Peterson. Funeral services for Stevan will be held privately at his request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Eliot Baptist Church 912 HL Dow Highway Eliot Maine 03903. Care for the Palmer family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
