Obituary

After a brief illness, Tamie Rae (MacNeil) Devlin of Sanford, Maine passed away on Thursday, May 11th at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston surrounded by her loving family.

Born at Frisbee Hospital in Rochester, New Hampshire on December 19, 1977, Tamie was the beloved daughter of Pauline (Roux) Rondo and Richard MacNeil.  She was raised in Somersworth, NH and graduated from Somersworth High School in 1996.  While in high school, her main passion was cheerleading, and she served in the capacity of captain during her junior and senior years.  Tamie enjoyed running track, and she, again, served in the capacity of captain during her junior and senior years.  She was also involved with the yearbook club, the foreign language club, the prom steering committee, and student government as class treasurer during her junior year.  Most recently, she was employed with the Lincoln Financial Group in Dover, NH.

There was nothing more important to Tamie than her family.  She took great joy in researching her extended family and ancestry.  According to her many nieces and nephews, she was "the favorite aunt" because she was an astute listener, and she offered the best advice.  She loved getting lost in a great book and dabbling in her garden where she proudly grew seasonal vegetables and herbs.  She had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh.  In addition to being a fan of horror movies, she loved listening to music and watching her favorite sports teams, the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots.  Most of all, Tamie loved her dogs, Charlie Ann & Rowdy Rude Pants, and she often dressed them in Patriots jerseys while watching the games with her family.

Tamie is survived by her soulmate and the love of her life, Dan Devlin, and her stepdaughter, Alexys Devlin; her mother, Pauline Rondo of Lebanon, ME; her father, Richard (and Anita) MacNeil of Dover, NH; her parents-in-law, Donna and Charles Steadman of New Durham, NH; her sister, Carrie MacNeil-Gurney (and Rick Gurney) of Somersworth, NH; her sister, Julie (and Adam) Sears, of Lebanon, ME; her stepbrother, Jason Bernier (and Lindsey) of Dover, NH; her stepsister, Vera (and Chris) Sullivan of Barrington NH; her stepsister, Billie-Jo Rondo of Rochester, NH; her stepbrother, Jarod (and April) Rondo of Lebanon, ME; her stepsister, Elisha (and Jim) Quinney of Northwood, NH; her brother in-law, Frank Devlin of Somersworth, NH; and her sister in-law, Lori Devlin of Rochester, NH as well as numerous nieces and nephews (Kera, Ryan, Kevin, Autumn, Jessica, Sean, Seth, Sarah, Judith, Corlene, Samantha, Abby, Allison, Matthew, Natalie, Leightin, Stone, River and Meadow), a great nephew (Silas) and a great niece (Crystal).

Tamie was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Dorothy Newbury and Willie Roux; her paternal grandparents, Bertha and Robert MacNeil; her stepfather, William Rondo; her nieces (Noelle and Alexandra Sears); and her uncle, Robert MacNeil.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, June 3rd from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the House of Hope, 25 Saw Mill Hill, Berwick, ME 03901.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Tamie's name to the Animal Welfare Society of West Kennebunk, ME or to My Breast Cancer Support in Portsmouth, NH.
