Terry L.
Barrett
Oct 18, 1962 — Aug 15, 2024
Kittery- Terry L. Barrett, 61, of Highpointe Circle in Kittery died on August 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by family following a courageous battle against ALS.
Born in Warwick, Rhode Island on October 18, 1962, she was a daughter of the late David (Lon) and Bette (Andrews) Williamson. She was raised in Exeter, Rhode Island and attended local schools.
Growing up she would be seen riding her bicycle, motorbikes, playing ball with her sister and the neighborhood kids. She also enjoyed climbing trees and trekking through the woods. Terry had a love of singing and dancing.
Terry graduated from North Kingstown High School with the class of 1980. She participated in school activities and sports, such as volleyball and cheerleading for the football and basketball teams.
After a short stint at the University of Rhode Island, she joined the Army as a Military Police Officer. Her first duty station was at Rhein-Main Air Base in Germany. After returning from Germany, she met her late husband, an Air Force recruiter, Charles (Chuck) Barrett II.
After they were married, they had their daughter Brandi, followed by Nikki and moved to Kittery, Maine where they welcomed Alli.
Terry joined the New Hampshire Air National Guard as a traditional guardsman while working as the Personnel and Training Administrative Assistant at the City of Portsmouth Police Department. She served in both careers for over twenty years and made many incredible friends that she loved dearly. After retiring from the Police Department, she worked for Sig Sauer before permanently retiring due to her illness.
Through Terry's illness she kept her strong faith and sense of humor. A day never went by where she didn't show her unyielding love for her girls and sister. Her beautiful smile and warm spirit will be deeply missed.
Terry is survived by her daughters; Brandi, Nikki, Alli Barrett; sons-in-law Carlos Valdez and Taylor Grande; granddaughter Camila Valdez; sister Tracey Brady; brother-in-law Michael Brady; nephew Matthew Brady, and niece Erin Brady. She was predeceased by her father and mother David (Lon) Williamson, and Bette Andrews.
