Kittery- Thelma Linscott LaClair, 97 of Manson Road in Kittery died on November 8, 2021 at Durgin Pines in Kittery following a period of failing health.
A true native of Kittery she was born at the family farm on Wilson Road and in 1926 moved to her home on Manson Road where she would live the remainder of her life.
She met and married her loving husband the late Guy LaClair and together they raised a family until his death in 1982.
She enjoyed travel especially to New Mexico, North Carolina, New York and Pennsylvania as well as many other destinations.
" Tootie" as she was affectionately known began volunteering for the Kittery School Lunch program in 1948 an remained an employee there until her retirement in 2006 and over the years enjoyed her coworkers, staff and adored the students.
She was active, bowling in the " Seacoast League" and " Merry Mixers " as well as her daily dose of "Days of Our Lives" and Jeopardy on television. She was an avid reader and worked cross word puzzles even until last week ! She had a sharp wit and her humor was greatly enjoyed by those who knew her.
She was blessed to enjoy five generations of family, She is survived by her daughter Linda Wentworth, son Bruce and his wife Diana LaClair, daughter Patty and her husband Steve Webber and daughter In law Sharon LaClair, as well as many grand, great and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Guy LaClair.
Friends are invited to join her family on Tuesday November 16, 2021 at 11am in Brooks Memorial Park and Cemetery in Eliot for a graveside service. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the 2nd Congregational Church of Kittery or the Kittery Historical and Naval Society.
