Somersworth – Therese Richer, 88 passed away Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 at home with her family due to failing health. She was born in Somersworth on January 5, 1930.  Therese was the eleventh of Jean-Paul and Josephine (Clavette) Chasse's 14 children. Her storied youth was packed with fond memories of her siblings, and trips to Old Orchard Beach.

After graduating from Somersworth high school in 1946. Therese entered the workforce, spending several years at Roberts Shoe in Somersworth, NH.  After the birth of her two children, Therese chose to focus all her attention on her family.

Later in life Therese returned to work, accepting a position in dining services at the University of New Hampshire. She retired in 2002 after fifteen years of faithful service. After retirement she once again found time to pursue her greatest love, her family.  Therese spent countless memorable hours with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love will live on in us forever. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother.

Therese was predeceased by her parents and 12 siblings. She is survived by her daughter Linda, and Linda's husband Lester Eldridge of Somersworth, with whom she resided. Her son Michael Richer, and his wife Marly of Putnam, CT.  She will also be missed by her grandchildren Diawna Eldridge, and Matthew Richer; as well as her great grandchildren Brody, Braden, Jailyn, Gabriella, and Naiya.  She also leaves her sister Elia M. Gouin of Somersworth, and several Nieces and Nephews.
