Kittery, ME – Thomas S. Bridges Jr., 90, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.  He was born December 26, 1932, in Portsmouth, NH to his parents Thomas Sr. and Marion (Leary).

Tommy attended Traip Academy in Kittery and graduated in 1950. Afterwards he joined the US Coast Guard and served from 1951 to 1954.

He married his beloved wife Joan Blodgett on August 6, 1955 and went to work as a Turbine operator and IBEW member for Public Service of NH, Schiller Station.  An avid golfer, he played at York CC and later a member of the Portsmouth CC for 46 years.  Most recently he played at the Pease Golf Course.  Tom was also a standing member of the BPO Elks Club in Portsmouth.

Tom is predeceased by his wife, Joan Bridges, his parents, and his sister Marilyn Palmer of York ME.

He is survived by his daughters: Lorraine Simpson of Stratham NH, and Linda Bridges of Portland, ME; his granddaughter Jessica Simpson, a great-grandson Charlie Monroe; his sisters Kate Hall and Elaine Bridges both of Kittery, ME; his niece Lynn Palmer of Scarborough, ME; and nephews Steve Palmer of Florida, and Mike Hall of Kittery, ME. Care of the Bridges Family has been entrusted to the J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
