Somersworth- Valmore A. Fournier, 79 a lifelong resident of Somersworth died on Sunday September 21, 2014. Born on November 23,1934 in Somersworth he was a son of the late Jean Henry and Lena (Toussaint) Fournier. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy aboard the USS Saufley (EDDE-465) . Following high School he graduated from McIntosh College. He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard after many years of dedicated service. He served his community as a member of the City of Somersworth Zoning Board of Adjustment. Val was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish attending Holy Trinity Church as well as membership in the Somersworth American Legion Post #69. He will be greatly missed. Val is survived by his loving wife of sixty years , Delores (LaCroix) Fournier; two daughters Diane Vosatka and her husband Edward of Melbourne, FL and Susan Printy and her husband James of Rochester, NH two grandchildren Arwen (Printy) Meyer and Joshua Printy, a great grandson Phoenix Meyer and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins among other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents and two siblings, Pauline (Fournier) Desharnais and Raymond Fournier. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday September 29, 2014 at 11am in St. Martins church with Fr. Michael Taylor as celebrant. Care for the Fournier family is entrusted to the Bernier Funeral Home.
