Virginia C. Gardner's Obituary
Kittery – Virginia C. "Gini" Gardner, 87, of Kittery, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
She was born and raised in Maine. Gini attended the University of Maine and the University of New Hampshire, receiving her degree in English Literature.
She worked in the Kittery School System as a substitute teacher and later volunteered at the Portsmouth Hospital for 20 years. Gini also volunteered teaching adults on how to speak, write, and read English.
Gini loved her family, political discussions, reading, gardening, swimming, the Red Sox, and Tom Brady.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Ray Gardner in 1980 and her beloved son, Stephen Gardner in 1995.
Gini is survived by her son, Scott Gardner and his partner, Meg Horan, his three children, Erin Wagner, Megan Gardner-Turner and Anna Gardner; eight great grandchildren; her daughter, Nyla Gardner and her son, Ryan Hickman.
She will be greatly missed.
Services: A private graveside service will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, ME.
