Walter J. Jakan of York, Maine, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the age of 85.

Walt was born in New Bedford, MA, and was the son of Stanley and Albina (Tenczar) Jakan.  He served in the United States Air Force for 6 years and retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 2002 after 28 years of Government Service.

Walt is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gail (Hannaford) Jakan; daughters, Debra Holton of FL, and Melanie O'Grady of VA; three grandchildren, Katie, Wesley, and Bella; one great-grandchild; three siblings, Edward Jakan of CO, Arlene (Dennis) Wilkes of PA, and Dennis Jakan of ME; godson, Eric Jakan of CO; and many loved and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at 3:00 p.m., followed by Memorial Services at 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, ME.
