Cape Neddick, ME – Dr. William H. Meredith, 84, of Cape Neddick, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the York Hospital.
He was born on November 18, 1932, in Quincy, Massachusetts, a son of William B. and Harriet (Clements) Meredith. He was a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
Dr. Meredith served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War.
He was a self-employed chiropractor/physician and for short time in the 1970's, he also sold real estate.
He was a member of the Rotary in York, was a member of the Blazing Star-Eureka Lodge No. 11 F & AM, in Concord; he was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shriner's. Dr. Meredith was an avid sailor and loved all the time he spent on his trimaran, "Bajau". He was a man who certainly liked an adventure, Dr. Meredith toured Europe for six months with his family in his custom VW Bus as well as many extended sailing trips.
His wife, Mildred A. (Ballard) Meredith, passed away in 2006.
Survivors include his children, Harriet Anne Soriano of TX; Dr. William A. Meredith of NH; and Mark Meredith of NH; 11 grandchildren, Harriet, Alan and Romeo Soriano, Meredith Knight, Wilhem and Spencer Meredith, Chelse and Noah Meredith, Alexis Carpenter and Samantha and Benjamin Meredith; 10 great grandchildren.
