Somersworth: William A. Gus Brooks, 1/15/1941 11/26/2011 of Rte. 108, passed away at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover with his loved ones at his side after a period of failing health. He is predeceased by his mother Doris J Brown, his father Edgar M Brooks, brother William H and sisters Lillian and Edna. Survivors include his son Dale L. of Somersworth, daughter Belinda J Knight of Holderness, NH, son Timothy A of Lebanon, ME and his daughter Dorothy D Hundley of Middleton, NH, the mother of his children, Mary J Edwards of South Berwick, ME and his granddaughter and best friend Tia M Brooks who resided with him in Somersworth. A total of 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, his longtime girlfriend Carol Rouselle of Somersworth. Bill worked his whole life as a mechanic, truck driver and tow truck operator. His last employer was Cass Towing. He had been a volunteer firefighter for Berwick & Kittery Fire Departments. He was always willing to help anyone in need, day or night. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, stock car racing, CB Radios and his family. Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 pm at Bernier Funeral Home 49 South St. Somersworth. A Graveside Service will be Wednesday Dec. 7th at 11 am in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot, ME Contributions may be made to Hyder Family Hospice House. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bernier Funeral Home, Somersworth.
