William "Bill" Frye Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 27 th surrounded by family.
Bill was born on July 6 th , 1935 in Kittery, Maine to William Frye Sr. & Dorothy Frye. After graduating from Eliot High School, Bill enlisted in the United States Army where he served for three years, he then transferred into the United States Army Reserves. After serving our country he began a career as a Bricklayer in which he worked for many years and retired from Ricci Construction of Portsmouth, NH.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and gardening. Throughout his life, he enjoyed watching baseball and football games with his family, specifically the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Bill took great pleasure in spending time with his four granddaughters and those girls have been very lucky to have had a chance to experience his sense of humor and what he taught them about life. He enjoyed going out to get a newspaper everyday, reading, doing crossword puzzles and most of all weekend cookouts and holiday gatherings with family.
Bill is survived by beloved wife Catherine Frye of 52 years, son Darren, and his wife Carolyne Frye of Lebanon, ME, and their children Maggie and Brenna Frye, daughter Leia McGee and her husband Keith of South Berwick, ME, and their children, Nicole and Alexa McGee, Brother David Frye, and his wife Joanne, along with nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately for family members and interment will be at Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, Maine. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com
