Somersworth: William S. Bill Wilder, 88, of Green Street, died November 9, 2012 at Colonial Hill in Rochester following a period of failing health. A lifelong resident of Somersworth, Bill was born here February 22, 1924 the son of William and Lillian (Spofford) Wilder. Bill retired from General Electric after 35 years as a machinist. He was the husband of Josefina (Opolentisima) Wilder. Bill will be remembered as a workaholic, someone always willing to help, a great storyteller and a city historian. He truly enjoyed spending time at camp in Ossipee. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by two sons, Edwin and his friend Gretchen of Ossipee, and David of Florida, his 3 grandchildren, Tim, Matt and Megan as well as his great grandchildren, Kaydence, Jayden, Mason and Riley. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.in Bernier Funeral Home 49 South Street Somersworth. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Cold Spring Cemetery, Spring St. East Rochester.
