Obituary

Somersworth: Wilmer J. L. Morneau Bud , 85, of Somersworth entered into eternal rest on Friday January 13, 2012 at the NH Veteran s Home. Bud was born January 7, 1927 in Holyoke, MA to Wilmer and Irene Morneau. Bud joined the Navy after graduation and served on the USS Fall River during the end of World War II. Settling in Connecticut he worked as a machinist for Pratt & Whitney and was treasurer for the union. As his family grew he started his own business as a painting contractor. He continued his business after moving to Somersworth 41 years ago. He was a life long member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved ballroom dancing and traveling. He will truly be missed by all. He was the husband of the late Theona Morneau and Rita (Gauthier) Morneau. He is survived by his eight children: Richard and Gail Morneau of Estero, Fl., James Morneau of Canton, Ct., Laura Frenette of Plymouth, Ct., Leonard Morneau of New Hartford, Ct., Steve and Karis Morneau of Cartersville, Ga., Peter and Sigrun Morneau of South Riding, Va., Edward and Allise Morneau of Barrington, NH, Louis Morneau of Santa Monica, Ca., . His stepchildren, Lucille Corson of Rochester, NH, Elaine and Melvin Lemieux of Fl. He was predeceased by a stepson, Robert Fortier. Bud also leaves two sisters, Marguerite Sadosky of Wethersfield, Ct., Rita Murphy of Sanford, Me. He also leaves of his legacy, 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8pm at Bernier Funeral Home 49 South St. Somersworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11am at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in St. Martin Church, 120 Maple St. Somersworth with Rev. Michael S. Taylor, pastor as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lewy Body dementia Association (online: lbda.org) or to the Veterans of NH 139 Winter St. Tilton, NH Bud s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the NH Veteran s Home for the care and keeping our dad comfortable the last days of his life.
